Directions from Manchester - via Snake
Road (A57):
NOTE: the Snake is occasionally subject to closure from landslip or snow, check before you leave, alternative routes are Woodhead Pass (A628, right onto A616 for 9 miles, right onto A629, join A61, directions are then as for those coming from the North on the M1) or M62 (join M1 travelling South to J36).
Follow the Snake Road all the way until it
turns into Manchester Road (still the A57) and go on
for 0.9 mi, then bear left onto Rivelin Valley Road
(A6101) continue to the end of Rivelin Valley road, take a left
turn onto
Holme Lane, take next left turn, Stannington Road (signposted
Stannington) for 0.2ml then right turn at Wood Lane
and go just 303ft - bear right onto Myers Grove Lane
and go 0.4ml - bearing right onto Greaves Lane, follow
0.4ml and you should be here.
Traveling from the South on the M1:
Leave the M1 at junction 33, taking the A630
Sheffield Parkway towards Sheffield.
Please note: extensive city centre roadworks make providing directions difficult at present. SatNav and maps will be little help while the work is in progress. For the time being it will be necessary to rely on road-signs.
Leave the Parkway turning right at traffic lights before reaching the large Park Square roundabout. You will need to rely on street signs to find your way to Penistone Road, heading for Hillsborough,
bear left at Bradfield Road and go 0.1 mi - at
the roundabout take the first exit onto Bradfield Road go 0.2
mi. Bear left at Holme Lane and go 0.4 mi, turn left
at Stannington Road and go 0.2 mi - then right at Wood
Lane and go just 303ft - then bear right onto Myers
Grove Lane and go 0.4 mi - then bear right onto Greaves
Lane, go 0.4 mi and you should be here.
Traveling from the North on the M1:
Leave the M1 at junction 36, follow directions
for the A61 Sheffield North. Take the 3rd exit
off the roundabout and continue to the next roundabout,
taking the 2nd exit - follow the A61 through for 3
miles onto the A6101 which is then signposted for Penistone
Road. Bear right onto Bradfield Road, which is signposted
for Loxley and Stannington - Bear left at Holme Lane
and go 0.4 mi, turn left at Stannington Road and go
0.2 mi - then right at Wood Lane and go just 303ft
- then bear right onto Myers Grove Lane and go 0.4
mi - then bear right onto Greaves Lane, go 0.4 mi and
you should be here.
